How Much Does a Bronze Statue Cost in 2026?

Want a bronze statue but fear hidden costs? Budgeting for large art can be stressful. I will show you the exact prices to help you plan your project easily.

A bronze statue costs between $1,000 and $35,000 or more. The price depends on the size, design, and whether you need a custom clay model. A life-size 71-inch statue usually costs about $2,500 to $4,500. Custom designs will add extra fees for the clay mold.

How much do custom clay models cost?

Custom designs need a new clay mold. This adds extra cost. If you ignore this, your budget will fail. Let us look at the real clay model prices.

A custom clay model costs between $800 and $3,000. A 71-inch simple human figure costs $1,000. A 118-inch human figure costs $3,000. A 71-inch animal like a deer or horse costs $800 to $1,000. Existing molds save you this fee.

I have worked in bronze casting for over 40 years. I see many clients forget the clay model fee. The lost-wax method starts with a perfect clay model. We must make a new model if you want a unique design. This takes our master artists weeks of hard work. The cost changes based on the size and the details.

I remember a client from Canada. He wanted a custom 71-inch bronze horse for his ranch. He was surprised by the extra $1,000 for the clay model. I explained that our clay masters spend years learning this skill. They shape every muscle by hand. Once he saw the photos of the clay horse, he understood the value. If you want to save money, you can choose from our existing molds. We have thousands of ready models at YouFine Bronzes Gallery. This skips the custom clay fee entirely. But for a truly unique piece, the custom clay model is worth every penny.

How does size affect the overall price of bronze statues?

You might wonder why a slightly taller statue costs double. Pricing big sculptures can confuse buyers. I will break down the costs by height to show you the truth.

Size is the biggest factor in a bronze statue price. A 20-inch statue is cheap. A 71-inch statue costs around $2,500. A 118-inch statue costs over $8,500. Huge statues up to 394 inches tall can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

A taller statue also gets wider and deeper. So, the total amount of bronze goes up very fast. A statue that is twice as tall uses much more than twice the amount of bronze. This is a basic rule. I always explain this to my clients when they ask for custom sizes.

How much do bronze animal statues cost?

YouFine bronze casting cost

A 71-inch bronze deer costs about $2,500. A 43-inch long bronze horse costs $2,500 to $2,800. A large 91-inch tall horse with raised hooves costs $4,250 to $4,600. Prices change based on the pose and the total bronze weight.

Bronze animal statues are very popular. Our clients often buy them for estates, golf courses, and private gardens. I always tell my clients that the pose matters a lot. A horse standing still needs a simple support structure inside. A horse jumping needs a very strong structure inside. This makes the price higher.

I once helped a gallery manager in New York. He wanted the 98-inch bull for an outdoor plaza. He loved the detail on our statues. We use the traditional lost-wax method. This keeps every muscle and line sharp. The larger bulls take more bronze and more time to cast. The 193-inch bull is a huge project. It needs special shipping and a very strong base. But the impact of a giant bronze bull is truly amazing.

We recently built a giant 394-inch figure for a public park. A project this big needs a team of engineers. We must check the wind and the weight. The steel frame inside costs a lot of money. We also need big cranes to move the parts. So, the price is not just for the bronze. You also pay for the safe structure, the heavy shipping, and the expert installation. I always tell clients to pick a size that fits their space and their budget perfectly.

A bronze statue costs between $1,000 and $35,000. The price depends on custom clay molds, size, and pose. Contact us today to get an exact quote for your project.

    Good afternoon,

I have a 3 foot 9 inch Alice in Wonderland statue — inherited from my parents. They bought it at an antique store over 25 years ago in New York City that was going out of business. It weighs about 100 pounds and thus is not sold bronze. It is either bronze or copper. It has faded paint (Alice’s blue dress and ribbon in her hair) and is worn as she has been outside for several decades. I need to give a value for it regarding my take from the entire house, which is divided in unequal ways with the various children and grandchildren. I’m guessing it is worth about $2,500. Am I in the ballpark?

Can you give me some help with this? I do not want to sell it.

    • Dear friend,
      Good afternoon!

Thank you for sharing the history of your cherished Alice in Wonderland statue. It sounds like a remarkable piece with a lot of sentimental value. Determining the value of such an antique can indeed be challenging, especially with its unique background and condition.

Given its size, weight, and the materials you described, it seems quite plausible that your estimate of around $2,500 could be in the right range. However, the exact value can vary significantly based on factors like the artist, the statue’s provenance, and its current condition.
